Chris: I dreaded returning from my honeymoon to share Harry Prior's house. We did not have any alternative, no money. Vic had just changed his job and would not get his first wage packet for a month. I was still at Penfolds. Alan Hutchin's sister and her husband had rented from Harry before us. Harry liked company and I did some cleaning. He did insist that we used his sheets on the bed and not our wedding present sheets. After a year when we could afford the mortgage on Highland Drive and I was really upset to leave him. Thanks to him I had my wedding presents/sheets all brand new. He came several times for a meal.
Chris: My first shopping bill dated 6th July 1962 was for 48 items and came to £3 10 shillings and 8pence. It was in Waitrose and unfortunately does not say what the items were but a lot end in a 1/2 penny.
